Mystipi lite

Post by bclout » Fri Jan 08, 2021 12:47 pm

Hello all, i got to finish my mystipi lite. Its using the ouija front lid with helders laser cut bottom, wermy 3d printed parts plus buttons.
For the lid to fit on the bottom, i needed to butcher the attachment holes, as they were slightly different. That could be the reason why the screen is a little skewed when i taped the backing of the screen. I also got help from a friend who soldered the pi to the board. I did not trust my skills!
Anyway, i was surprised it works the first time, even the sound. I havent played much on it yet, the wife took it to play tetris all day... Well, i still have a mintypi v2 from 2018 to finish, and v3.5 is on the way. I will try to get my hands on one of those bob ross tins here in Europe (Switzerland), those look great! If anyone has any tips, then i am all ears.
Ok ok, here are the pictures:

Other random things:
I bought the battery from aliexpress 1500mAh, which does a good job. I did have a 2000mAh, which is 6mm thick instead of 5mm, but was not sure if it would fit.
I really like the 3d printed parts, they are solid. I ahd 3d printed parts from ebay, but they were different quality.
Two issues: due to the skewed screen, i have to carefully close the lid, it jams a little when closing. And the down button sometimes hangs, so i need to sand the cross a little.
Thank you to all involved for all the hard and amazing work!! I am so grateful to enjoy my favorite games on the go (this is my first portable, ever).
