wow, yeah, laser engraving is definitely next level.

i actually have the option to swap out my 3d printer printheads for a laser, that i haven't tried yet. it's probably underpowered for metal engraving though, but maybe it's worth a try.

Wear safety glasses since it'll likely reflect off the tin metal. My laser is specific to metals and plastics and a few other materials, even C02 isn't too ideal for metals but with some chemical coating application it can mark the tin but doubtful it'll cut it.

it came with a pair of tinted safety goggles :)

the laser i have is apparently "extremely good at engraving objects such as wood, plastic, leather, paper and even cutting thin materials like plastic" - so, my guess is it probably won't scratch the tin, but if i get brave, maybe i'll give it a try.

i think the likelihood that i lose an eye is slightly lower with the waterslide decals tho
