the problem with 3D hubs is that it's very dependent on your local providers. as long as you remember it's the Air B'n'B of 3D printing and not shapeways, then it's fine ;)

Classic tin!
Huh? has the design changed? someone gave me this a while back (the BBE is August '16 - or maybe that's the build date since it doesn't say BBE...) I though the difference was just because of the fact that it's a UK tin...

I believe the tin design used by Wermy is the latest and it was changed from the design you have around 2015. I prefer yours! Curiously retro 😎

I'm still getting the knack of my 3D printer. A Monoprice Maker Select Plus. The guy who gave it to me (free is the best price ever!) recommended I print out the z-frame mods to help stabilize it more. I'd also want to make a housing box for it as my wife read up about 3D printers and isn't keen on me using ABS without one. So I went the route of buying Wermy's parts for this round and then I will try on my own at a later time.

So I've been waiting for a few things to arrive before I start soldering and I did some fettling of the prints last night:
Some smoothing of the back and font top pieces

The buttons were too tall so they had to come down a bit and in fact might have to come down some more

I love them. Cura printed all items just fine at "standard" without issue. The hinge pieces need some fettling to make them fit together but fine apart from that

Looks, good, I'm looking into getting my first 3D Printer, do you recommend the one you are using? if so where can I get one, thanks.
I can't find the original pic I had of a "What 3D printer should I buy?" flow chart that someone posted on Reddit a while back, but this link will tell you much the same (minus the snarkiness).

https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/com ... arch_2017/

You'll notice that Monoprice is in there a few times. Their mini is probably one of the best printers for its price range out there at $200. (planning on making it my next purchase for a printer when I'm able to) If they're sold out on Monoprice's site, wait. A lot of people buy them up and resell them for much higher. The waiting list is not that long though. Their Maker Select and Maker Select Plus models are just rebranded Wanhaos but are great units. I point you in their direction for a couple of reasons. Again, great prices. But there's also a huge support community out there for their stuff. Tweaks, mods, etc.

It'll come down to what you want overall. But read up on each. Check the feedback on them. Watch videos. But most of all..... do NOT buy ANY printer kit that comes from Aliexpress, Banggood, or is listed at $250 or less on ebay/Amazon (the ones you have to build yourself). The parts are them are subpar. Many people complain of the stuff being broken upon receipt or breaking during assembly. (acrylic frames? really?) Get what you're comfortable with, yes. But make sure you're getting the best you can with your money as it's an investment by itself.
