This is my first MintyPi build. Its nothing special, if fact it looks exactly like the one from the build video.

It took a little longer than expected but I now have a little something to travel with. Overall a very fun build.

Huge thanks to Wermy and Helder for making this kind of thing possible.

Thanks!

Parts from Wermy and Helder arrived on the 13th. I was one of the first batch.

How did the build go? Any issues or gottchas?

How experienced are you with this sorta project and how long did the build take?

Sorry. Just getting back to the forum.

The build is straight forward. Get a couple of tins and use a file for the USB C and a step bit for the shoulder buttons after drilling a pilot hole. Drill bits tend the miss shape the thin tin. Or use a file for those too.

I have built 10 gameboy Zeros. The first was when the scene first started with a button PCB, a Backup camera monitor, a mile of wire and 2 full sticks of hot glue. My 10th was the latest circuit sword with 6 face buttons and an analog stick.

I’ve got 25 years experience with electronics but this is an easier kit. It reminds me of the electronics kits you can buy to learn to solder. The hardest thing was the holes in the tin. Good thing that part is cheap.
