What about that HDMI-port?

Post by theoccurrence » Thu Aug 03, 2017 3:23 am

Hi all,

I finally received all my parts and wanted to start building my own MintyPi this weekend, but I was wondering what keeps us from also cutting out and using the Pi Zero's HDMI-port... It wouldn't be that hard to access, would it? Are there some kind of hardware or software limitations that restrict the resolution, or something like that? I'd really like to use the HDMI-port, but I also don't want to destroy my tins, any answers and help would be great :)

It still works, so if you can cut a hole in the right spot then go for it. :) It outputs at 640x480.

That's great 8-) I'm definitely going to waste a few tins on this, but I'll see what I can do. But isn't the Pi Zero capable of putting out 1920x1080 pixels?

It's capable of it yes, but I lowered the resolution so things are legible on the tiny screen (and also to make fbcp work a little faster, but I haven't done any tests to see if that actually did help).
