Optional usb port

Post by Droopid666 » Tue Dec 11, 2018 11:41 am

First post lol, is it true there will be an open usb port on the pi in v3 and that being said. Is it possible to get an optional hole guide that incorporates that hole for rom transfers and the such. I think it would make the unit a lot more user friendly (I can gift it to someone less tech savy). Thank you for all the hard work put into v3 really excited to see what those shoulder buttons are going to look like installed you guys have really out done yourselves. :D

I want that added to the stencil for drilling but that is ultimately on Wermy to do but I agree it should be there as an option for whoever wants to open the hole up.

I'm inclined to agree with not drilling out a hole for usb. You'd be basically start turning your tin into swiss cheese with drilling so many dang holes into it.

i would presume itd be the same as before as the power switch is no longer needed and i believe i read the usb type c for charging is placed on back this go around? i could be wrong anyone wanna chime in, but thats all regardless as i said it could be optional... my own personal i wont need it as id ssh to the pi, but for my dad who only knows how to drag and drop files.... its simply a question for the necessity.
