Re: Available room dimensions for battery
Found: 1100mAh (0,5mm thicker though)
https://eckstein-shop.de/PKCELL-LiPo-Ak ... -Connector
Specs: http://ecksteinimg.de/Datasheet/LP52346 ... 161116.pdf
same manufacturer as the Adafruits cells.
@Wermy: What's the runtime for the 1200 mAh pack when BT and WIFI are disabled?
Thanks

Re: Available room dimensions for battery
I'll run some tests this weekend - been meaning to do that for weeks anyway.affensause wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2017 6:08 amFound: 1100mAh (0,5mm thicker though)

Perfect, thank!
I'll buy it anyway. More than 2 hours is overkill for that small pocket device anyway. Guess you can't play with adult hands more than 1 hour before cramping

Re: Available room dimensions for battery
my guess is 3-4 hours, with everything on!!
Get a small cheep LCD in your project https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2312
Wrap it all round a battery https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2292
Or use a custom PCB to make it really small https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2512
or make it really really really really tiny!! https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2919

Re: Available room dimensions for battery
Alright, so I tested this weekend using a 2.4" screen. Got right at 3 hours out of it. This was on a non-W RP0 (all I had soldered up to a screen at the time), but this should be a good approximation of using it with wifi/BT disabled. From what I'm reading online the W only uses ~20mA more, so I'd estimate that to put you between 2.5-3 hours with wifi on. Not earth-shattering but for a mint-tin-based gaming handheld I'd say it's alright. And hey, it beats the Switch's battery life when playing Zelda Breath of the Wild.
Also, there is a chance that using the custom PCB for buttons has freed up enough space that a 2000mAh battery is an option. That should put you up around 4 hours. I'll know for sure once I get the final set of parts here and can put one together using it.

Re: Available room dimensions for battery
Is there a way to enable/disable the Wifi / Bluetooth via Retropie (with a custom shell script or somesuch?) to save some battery life when it isn't needed?
