Lid/screen model: 89.5mm x 55mm x 6.3mm, with a corner radius of 14.9mm
Bottom: 91.5mm x 57.5mm x 13.55mm, with a corner radius of 12.5mm
(outer measurements taken with a ruler, not a caliper...)
UK altoids:
lid: 94mm x 59mm x 8mm (all slightly bigger) corner radius 13.5/14mm
base: (inner measure of rolled edge) 90mm x 54.5mm x 19.5mm x radius 9mm (this is what the lid model needs to fit inside of so looks like UK 'oids tin is the same as the US one despite different printing.

Pi Hut tin:
lid not hinged
base inside rolled edge: 84mm x 56mm x 17.5mm corner radius 7mm

so it looks like Pi hut tin is not quite right
Oh am I glad about this! I don't even know where else to get those tins in Italy :D
I hope to find the green ones.. I like it better :D
Cheers! :D

WOW! £15 (nearly) for 4 packs of wintergreen! yowzaaa!
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Altoids-Winter ... ds=altoids
shame only regular peppermint is sold natively here. all the other flavours are imports :(
@wermy how much would it cost to ship a selection package to UK/EU members? gotta be cheaper than nearly $5 a tin....

here's the green ones @DrafterITA https://www.amazon.co.uk/Altoids-Spearm ... ds=altoids

Thanks abrugsch :)
I was actually wondering the same.. Shipping the tins from the USA.. Because prices here are insane.. I guess it's more the hassle for wermy or whoever else to prepare the shipments etc etc..
Cheers! :D

Doesn't look like it.

12 pack Wintergreen is $15 @ Amazon. https://goo.gl/GfW4Jq
Shipping weight is 2.2lbs.
Cheapest USPS shipping rate for a 2.2lb parcel to the UK is $34. https://goo.gl/FpS7ju
($34+$15)/12 = $4

So, not really any savings.

I wonder if these would work: https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Mints/Barkle ... B00CJB4DMO Tins look to be roughly similar in size. Might need to tweak the 3D prints for an exact fit, but they're readily available in the UK (and in more flavours). Looks like a grocery store near by has both these and Altoids in stock, so I can do a comparison if anyone's interested.

very similar size... one of those (the ginger one) has a measurement on it of 6cm so VERY close to altoids size

The weights are with the candy in it, bu if you dump them it's alot lighter. My Cinnamon tin (new with candy at a local store) was less than $2 so if someone can get them locally and dump the candy it shouldn't be too expensive to ship. But anything international from USA as a package up to 4 ounces or maybe a little more is about $13. I can weigh what an empty tin is and then multiply it by 12 and get a more accurate shipping cost.

Checked the Barkleys mints against an Altoids tin. They are virtually identical. Barkleys might have a mm less radius to the corners (so it's very slightly squarer looking), but the width, height and length are all effectively the same, both for the lid and the bottom. The hinge even looks to be identical.

So basically, you can directly substitute Barkleys for Altoids. As an added bonus, it gives a few more colour choices (and a few colours are easier to find vs. Altoids, especially outside the US)

Also, it might be worth checking at craft stores. Altoids-tin projects are pretty popular, and doing some googling, looks like you can buy them painted black or white as well, which would look cool. Though if you go that route, it would probably be a good idea to bring an actual Altoids tin with you, so you can compare sizes.

Barkley Mints are much easier to get in Australia. I can get 6 packs for $19.95 on ebay.

Thank you so much for posting about them.
