2.2" TFT to 2.4" TFT (transplant success)

with help from Helder and moosepr (many thanks), i was able to get my 2.2" TFT to work with Helder prototype PCB....

only issue, most people are rocking a 2.4" ....

so unlike others who were patient, i rushed out and bought 2.2" screens (when there was an apparent drought) and i also bought some 2.4" screens...

luckily i manage to get a copy of the prototype pcb (thanks to helder)...
now the problem being, the 3d printed parts wermy designed can only work with a 2.2" screen or one of Helder 2.4" not the 2.4" screens i had

so after getting the 2.2" screen to work, i had some 2.4" just lying around....
so the only solution i saw was to combine the two

2.2" screen board
2.4" screen

it worked a treet

just some minor work needed (and i still need to remove the old tape)

now this is a great option for someone who has one of Helder prototype PCB and also has both screens lying around...

i'm sure theres an easier way, if your starting from scratch (i think moosepr has a board) or doing a complete DIY build.....

but for me it works and worked out well (i had the screens lying around)

I have many boards! 😛 The simplest is this

https://oshpark.com/projects/BP9tGKag

Was designed with the 2.2 inch screens in mind (14 pins) but will work with the 2.4 and 2.8 screens if you overhang the cable like you did here. This board uses a 10 ohm smd resistor to power the backlight from the 3.3v pin and save you a pin

was thinking about using your board, but already had the screens ....

but its great if someones starting from scratch (just get your board and a bare 2.4")

not sure why.......

the flickering i experienced with the 2.2" screen (and had to set speed to 69000000)

was not there when i connected the 2.4" to the same board and even when i notched the speed right up to 99000000....

happy days.... (but still got a shorter ribbon cable to install)
:)

Weird! It should just be something with that one screen, maybe it's a bit faulty or something.

You could order those TFT boards and find another use for you 2.2 inch 😛
