Is there any particular type or size of Kapton tape that is required for this project? Also, What about Gorilla double sided mounting tape? Is that strong enough without being too strong for holding the parts into the lid? This is my first build and I don't have any of these already laying around.

I think I used 1 inch wide kapton. Gorilla double sided tape will work but you'll have a really tough / impossible time closing the tin. The recommended VHB tape is super thin stuff and mounting tape is thick. I made that mistake on my first build.

Thanks for the tip. I was just worried about the VMB because I wanted to be able to try again if I didn't get the placement correct. I will just have to try a few trial runs without the tape to practice.

How about this for Kapton tape?

No problem with your links. You can, if needed, cut the tape to whatever width or length

Thanks. I'll have to get some of it. I was more worried about not having a piece wide enough than thin enough. The 20mm is just a few dollars cheaper than the 1".

How about this for the VHB tape?

I'm a bit worried it may not be real 3M considering it's coming from overseas, but I can't imagine it matters too much considering how low stress the application is.
