Has anyone tried this?

So I was thinking about modifying the tin of the mintypi to have access to the left USB and mini HDMI ports on the Raspberry Pi Zero W. I would think this yould allow you to plug in usb devices like flashdrives to transfer ROMS and plug in extra controllers. And the mini HDMI would let you stream it to a big screen TV and play on it that way. But I feel like this would be the case that someone would have done something like this sooner. If anyone knows what something like that would do please tell me. I would really love that to be the case.

Thanks in advance :D

This is the mod I made in Fusion 360 for the template

For the USB: since this port is already used internally from the soundcard you can not connect additional devices to it. HDMI should work!

Maybe for a second mintyPi, but not for my first. Seems like a cool idea!

Im confused. A video by ETA Prime shows the usb port exposed. He says all of the things that I wanted. Can someone explain? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieNwzB5jTSE&t=294s

I didn't actually hear any audio from the game play on his video so I have no idea if the sound was even working. That build required you to solder up the sound card directly to the pads of the USB port. If you plug something into that USB port it will not work because it's being occupied by the sound card already.

Only other thing I could think of is that he managed to solder in a USB hub but I sincerely doubt that because there's zero additional room inside one of those things. I'd need more details.
