So I was building my first MintyPi and upon the first test after I had soldered the pi to the button pcb, this happened.

The screen went white, then a third of the screen went dark, and then the retropie software booted up, but it was sideways. Here are two pics of my setup and the screen. Sorry for bad quality.

Already answered this in an email he sent, basically it was the wrong MintyPi image used. You need the one on the mintyPi v3 Wiki Page.
