If all the pins have continuity (test it with a good meter) then it's the alignment and also check power on the LCD board it should be 3.1v to 3.3v

The LCD board is at about 3v so I guess that I'll just play with the ribbons more for now. Is it possible that the ribbon does fit the connector on the board you sold me (the one without silk screen) because it kind of seems they are spaced differently. Or is that me just trying to find anything as an excuse.

I definitely I know that the pin are all lined up there's no other way they can go I've been messing with them for hours and I put them exactly the way I had them yesterday when the screen was working. The only other thing that I can think of is because I drilled a hole to match up with the 3D printed part because the pcb I have didn't have those holes and I needed it there so my buttons would stop falling out and getting stuck. I'll attach pictures showing where I drilled. I figured it wouldn't make a difference as long as I didn't drill where two points are and connect them accidentally but you guys can tell me what you think. I don't mean to post so much but I'm out of ideas and have researched all I could find and tried everything I could think of and you guys are definitely smarter than me so I'm hoping someone can help. Thanks
Btw I took off the ground going from the test pad to the second pin on the ribbon connector because it didn't seem to make a difference and I tried to start fresh and take everything off.

Fixed it. I soldered the GND test pad to the 2 pin on the ribbon connector and I had to also connect a wire from the 5v gpio to the VCC pad.

See bad soldering points on the GPIO as is 1 of of the top 2 issues that cause all the problems.
