Function button not working

I had my minty pi working, and the function button worked like it should to exit games. I had to open it up, to change the SD Card. When I put the plate back on and started it up, the function no longer works. I’m assuming a broke connectivity somewhere. Does anyone know where I should check for connectivity to see if the function button is connected or not?

I had a similar issue, and I honestly think it was resolved by a restart and giving the system a few seconds to catch up once the new SD card had "warmed up".

I checked connectivity by testing the MODE pin against the two left pins/legs of the function button (didn't find anything that connected to the right pins/legs). Just in case soldering was the issue I redid the solder and switched back on, but the button still wasn't working at first... after a few seconds it started responding again. May have been the re-soldering, but I think it was more likely that the new SD card needs a restart plus a few seconds.

I tried restarting several times. I might have to resolder the function button. I’m going to try that.

While waiting for my solder iron to warm up I checked connectivity from the function button to the ‘mode’ pin and got nothing. Hopefully resoldering it works.

So, I checked connectivity on all the connections on the screen. The attached diagram is my quick sketch of all the connects that I was able to test. Number 9 doesn’t seem to be connected to anything. Could this be the problem? Also, number 10 has no connectivity to the corresponding tab on the PCB where the ribbon connects.

While I was writing this I decided to check the ribbon. Just the ends with out it plugged into anything. The number 10 wire in the ribbon doesn’t connect all the way. I’m gonna assume it’s broke somewhere. So I’m gonna replace the ribbon.

I’m going to leave the rest just in case someone else has the same problem and this helps them.

Well, I found a ribbon from another project and plugged it in. Turns out that was the problem. Works just fine.
