Not sure that's wired correctly.

Following the logic of the guide suggests it should be wired as follows:

I'll try that. I was under the impression that both of those points are ground. Can't hurt to try.

I think my main issue is the card isn't detected by the pi...like I always get the failed to detect default card error. So even if the speaker is wired properly it likely wouldn't work...or at least that is what I assume.

Swapped the wires. Still a no go. Really wish I could figure this out. Or hopefully my other cards get delivered one day. Ugh.

Hey, not sure what you mean with that image, care to explain a bit? I'm hoping for any help! Those pads you circled (green/red), are what I though was left and right audio, they are bridged together, and then wired to the speaker only the second grey wire on the right is ground, going to the speaker. Do you think they are meant for something else?

I think the most outer pads are Gnd for sure, so you meight try the circled 2, and 1 Gnd, together this should be L+R together and Gnd.
Hope you can fix it.. as far for the other pads, most times they are for the mounting of the socket, or GND.
I would just hook that dac up to the pc and check if it's working properly (detected and working) then just play some music and poke around with the wires, should work.. :geek:

Yeah, I had tested these before with the pi, and they worked fine with the headphones (did not check on a PC though). I am pretty sure I have the speaker wired properly, but the card is not being detected by the pi when soldered to the data pads. So I am assuming there are issues with either the power into the sound card or the data lines...It's just odd that I am seeing the same issue on two seperate pi's, and two seperate sound cards.

I will dig out the old USB plug I desoldered and try to connect it back to my PC, see what happens.

Okay, if you have a stripped usb cable there, or something, try wire the +5v up to another power source, then you know because it should work then. if not maybe something is gone south

I will try to troubleshoot a bit tonight if I have time!

Currently I have tried getting power from the pi itself (soldered to pp1, and pp6), as well as the powerboost 500C, same results between both ways. Using the multimeter I see 5v on a few spots on the board, I am just not sure where I should be measuring to check for 5V power. I think your idea of plugging to a PC will my best bet to see if these things actually work anymore.
