Ok, don't hate me for this but....have you tried reseating the micro sd card? It may have gotten unseated when you tried putting everything in the tin.
Re: White screen on minty pi lite
Yeah I took it out and put it back in and tried another card and that didn't work either.

Re: White screen on minty pi lite
White screen is 1 of 3 things:
1: bad soldering is 95% of all white screens, sure it *LOOKS* ok but is it really? did you do all the continuity tests?
2: The ribbon cable is not properly inserted or if you trimmed it like in Wermy's latest video it was trimmed too short.
3: Wrong image on the SD card or no SD card inserted, wrong image will not have the right drivers for the LCD

Re: White screen on minty pi lite
I cut mine like a tiny amount below the dots at roughly the halfway point. I mean, I don't think yours looks to be too small but I'm no expert and I guess the only good way to tell is to try another ribbon cable that hasn't been cut. If that fixes the issue, then you know it is the ribbon cable that is causing the white screen. I would look into the soldering first though. Like Helder mentioned, it is the most common problem. Could be fixed as easy as making the solder flow again and inserting the tip of the iron into each hole. Just my 2 cents.

Re: White screen on minty pi lite
Did you find a solution to your problem, I actually have the same one. I have good continuity at every point using Wermy's build guide as a reference and multimeter. But I haven't tried trimming the ribbon cable. As for the SD card, I get the white screen with or without it inserted but it's maybe worth noting that I bought a pre-loaded card that promised to be compatible with the Raspberry Zero W.

Re: White screen on minty pi lite
Big mistake, just because it works with the Raspberry Zero W does not mean it's going to work with the mintyPi Lite which has specific drivers for the screen likely that SD card is lacking much less the buttons and sound. his can't be blamed on us as we provide the software for this build you are using software lacking the necessary drivers for it to work with the Lite.

Re: White screen on minty pi lite
I was a little worried about that, but more worried about downloading the ROMs myself. Could I feasibly: extract the ROMs to a laptop hard drive which has more than enough space, format the SD card, write the actual Mintypi image to it, and then hope to reinstall the ROMs as if I had downloaded them?
