No sound, scorched pad, fixable?

I had the sound working, but while fixing another issue one of the speaker wires detached from the pad. I tried to resolder it, but I didn't do a good job, and now I can't get the speaker to work. I'm afraid I've scorched the pad, and I'm wondering if there is a way to recover from this or is there a workaround? Any help would be appreciated.
