sudomod

It seems that I am unable to connect to the pi over wifi. Wifi is enabled, I can also see it on the network. I'm using a mac. I have followed all of the instructions that some users have posted. I still get unable to connect error messages. I have also enabled SSH on the pi. I have tried using Mac's finder to connect using the IP address and I have tried using cyberduck ftp software. I have Comcast as an ISP. Is it possible that their gateway is preventing me from using ftp? Any help would be greatly appreciated
