Wiring speaker to this USB audio board

Okay, but that it was connected to the pb500 should have been fine to provide power, however i always wire usb stuff's power to the pb and never to the pi itself just to be sure not getting any voltage drop.
But personally i think that dac is gone the way you describe it, but anyway, the pc would tell you if it's good. (it's always usefull to have a stripped male and female usb cable, for these jokes)

Wired one of them up to a spare usb plug. Plugged into PC...not detected. Must have fried it somehow....guess I'll just wait for the other ones.

I officially have two fried sound cards, not sure what happened but theses are a lost cause and I could not get them to work no matter what I tried. I was sent a sound card from user Abunchahicks, promptly desoldered it, wired it up and it works perfectly....

Now if only I will get my other sound cards from China, it's 12 weeks on September 4th, ugh!!
