Just wondering out you can wirelessly transfer ROMS onto your mintyPi

Post by OrigamiBoy » Sat Aug 26, 2017 6:41 am

I do not really want to take it apart to get the sd card. Wermy mentioned something in his video about wirelessly transferring roms.
Does anyone have any info on that?

Yes and no.

So depending on what version of Raspberry Pi Zero you used, you'd have wifi built in. The Raspberry Pi Zero v1 doesn't have wifi, but the Raspberry Pi Zero W (w for wifi) does.

Hopes this helps!

You can do so through SFTP, using File Zilla.

At the end of Wermy's written guide there's a section for transferring ROMs. He explains how do transfer via FileZilla if you are still needing help :D
(Be aware, I'm pretty sure the Pi only connects to WPA/WPA2 wifi, I believe there's a way to change it somehow, but I know nothing about that)

Post by OrigamiBoy » Sat Aug 26, 2017 10:10 am

Hi, i have searched on google for about 30 minutes now and cannot find a successful way to transfer roms over to the mintypi. I have taken the sd card out, so is there a way to add them directly to the sd card? please help

Have a look here: http://www.sudomod.com/mintypi-custom-parts-guide/

Scroll all the way down to Transferring Games and read Wifi (SFTP)

Note, on retropie 4.2, ssh appears to be disabled by default, you're gonna need to enable it to transfer over wifi. Maybe follow this, https://nostalgiatechs.com/enable-ssh-retropie/

Origamiboy stop making a new thread for every single question you have when there are already other threads with the same questions and likely answers too and why is everything in the Software section? This topic belongs here but some of your others don't, I'm going to merge your topics with others but pay attention to where you're posting things.
