Pi zero can perfectly work with 3.3V which is a bit above a drained LiPo voltage... so there is no issue with running directly from a battery.
The freezing issue is not a battery related issue, as it lay happen with a fully loaded battery.
It's related with the software that is copying the frame buffer... It just crashes that's why the display stays still while the sound is still playing...

Thanks YaYa. That's what I figured but was seeing changing power sources as a troubleshooting step when searching this issue online in regards to retropie running on an rPi zero.

Re: Mintypi Freezing Mid-Game
If you want to delete the overclock no need to delete lines, just add a "#" in front of the lines you do not need. I can't recall the exact lines, since i'm not home I can't see my current pi. But the lines are at the bottom of the config.txt and it's pretty obvious which is which. And if you by chance # a line that wasn't supposed to have a #, then you can just edit the file again and change it.Mario.Semiglia wrote: ↑Thu Jul 05, 2018 10:36 amcould someone tell me please exactly wich lines have to be deleted? FYI, adding the "#" to the front of the line, simply make it ignore that line.

Re: Mintypi Freezing Mid-Game
Just change the overclock to a lower value. I think it's set to 1000, change it to 950 and try it. If it's freezing again drop it down another 50 to 900, then repeat till it's stable.
Mine was stable at 950.
