MintyPi Wire Gauge Size

Post by humpty53 » Sun Nov 26, 2017 7:08 pm

I believe that I may have bought a wire gauge size that is too big for the MintyPi. The size is a 24 gauge, bought from this particular seller on Amazon:

When I soldered some wires onto the L/R buttons, they appeared to be a bit too bulky for the entire MintyPi apparatus. They're also larger than the wires which come with the original Adafruit microLipo and the battery. Should I try to scale down the size, or is it alright to stick with this wire gauge?

You may run into closure issues. I would buy thinner gauge wire.

You shouldgo .30AWG for evrything except power which can be .28AWG or safer .26AWG

Personally i used 28awg for data and 26awg for power (same silicone wire you bought). You can maybe get away with 24awg silicone wire since its pretty flexible. But if you're having issues get some 28 or 30.
