Battery monitor and WIFI not working

I finally finished my mintypi today. I configured my micro sd card in the wpa_supplicant.conf. I booted it up, made sure my wifi was on, and attempted to connect it. In the file explorer, I did the \\RETROPIE. It didn't work, so I thought I could just do the IP address. I went to the "Show IP" in the retropie menu, but no IP came up. So I tried setting up my wifi on the Pi itself but it still wasn't connecting. I also tried using the battery monitor icon but that wasn't turning on either.

Check if there are any messages with saying i2c is not detected, this usually can be seen when you go to the audio settings or any setting that goes to a terminal like menu.

Wi-Fi is off by default so use the WiFi/ BT On menu option in the Retropie Menu.

It doesnt say anything about i2c not being detected. I also made sure the WIFI and Bluetooth is on but neither is still working.

It means your i2c chip is not connected to the Pi. This is a plain kit you got from me that you soldered the battery monitor chip yourself isn't it?

If it is maybe you soldered the chip the wrong orientation and check the SDA and SCL are soldered properly to the pi.

I did get the kit from you and soldered the parts on myself. Is there a chance that I may have "burned it out" because I used a hot air gun. Do you want me to send you a picture of my soldering?

I need close up pictures of the chip to see if it's oriented properly and you should check continuity on the 2 test pads and pi GPIO like I mentioned above.
