I've used a small magnet to trigger the hall effect sensor, but the shutdown doesn't complete. The last three lines on the screen are,

Unmounted RPC pie File System
Removed slice Usr Slice of Pi
Stopping Login Service...

It remains this way without shutting down. Is there something wrong with the image?

Are you powering the pi0 directly or using the MintyPi power board?

The power board kills the pi at this point but if it's powered by usb it'll stay at that screen until you remove the usb cable.
