MintyPi v3 will not turn on at all

I was following wermy's video guide, I had just attached the pi to the pcb, the headphone jack to the pcb, the speaker to the pcb, and had attached the screen. Then I plugged a micro-usb cable with a 5v block in the pi and nothing happened, the screen didn't flicker, no sound was produced. I flashed a 16gb microSD card with the latest image, checked the continuity on all of the test pads, made sure none had continuity that weren't supposed to. I don't have a lot of experience with electronics especially DIY electronics so I don't know where to start diagnosing the issue. I have included pictures of my soldering as well as the front of the pcb and a wider shot of the build so far. Any help is appreciated.

Do you know if the RPi was working before you soldered it on? Sounds like a dead Pi to me if it won't turn on even while plugged in to me.

I didn't check the board before I soldered it but when I plug it in a small green light in the lower right turns on

Ok now here is the big kicker, did you test continuity? Did you test the 5V and GND and 3.3v? if any of those are not properly connected you get no power.

I'm assuming here that you did not test continuity, you can go to the wiki and look at an image of the 5V test points and some other common issues people face. These issues have been covered in other threads here too have you looked at them? Do you have a multimeter to test continuity?

The 5v test pads have continuity with each other and both with the point higher on the pcb, the gnd and 3.3v pads have continuity too. I was unsure what the red and black box in the top right of the wiki picture were for but the rest of the pins have the proper continuity. Could I have damaged the board while soldering, I was using a very old soldering pen and the board was fairly hot by the time I was finished?

I just went through and meticulously rechecked the continuity. The pins that I have marked orange have continuity with GND, the purple pins have continuity with 5v, the red pins have continuity with the 3.3v, and the yellow pins don't have continuity with anything. Do all of the unassigned pins need to connect to the ground cause or do all of the unassigned pins need to not connect to anything, if it is the latter I am screwed.

Ok I might have over looked something as I re-read you first post. The pi has activity but nothing shows on the LCD so you're assuming it's power related but it might be the LCD at fault. When did you receive your kit? Was it recently?

Yes, it just shipped on monday. There is no sound coming from the speaker either. I saw that the latest microSD image just had the retropie logo if I'm not mistaken.

Is there sound coming from the headphones? Is this happening both through the power board and while plugged in?

No sound comes through the headphones.
