vr3 minty wont power on using power button with battery

Post by Nemo_Hoess » Thu Oct 03, 2019 2:02 pm

so I have the newest boards. when I plug a USB into the pi everything powers on and works fine. when I try to power using only the battery I get nothing after pushing the power button. so I have the PCB pic to check all my connections. my board is different than the pic. my board has a five-volt test pad at the end. now when I ring continuity on the two five-volt pins on the pi I get a tone. when I try to do a 5v pin on pi to the D1 i get nothing from either 5v's on the pi. not sure what to do here.

The D1 was the way to check 5v and also battery power to the pcb. This new version has the proper 5v test pad so you test the 2 pi 5v pads to that 5v pad on the pcb (or the D1 if you want).

Either way if you get no beep then you need to reflow the 5v pads, tons of posts about this issue and always same answer. Try having a read through the threads with similar issues as it's likely been answered, but if everything else is working this should be an easy fix.
