Invisible IP address

I got a mintypi kit and put it together I transferred a few games onto it and then I wanted to transfer more however for some reason the unit won't display the IP address when I go to the Wi-Fi configuration or the show IP address in retropie I can't get it to display the IP address so I can transfer more games onto it and I was wondering if there was any way to fix this or if anybody could help me with transferring games on to it via USB?

This happened to me also. After a few minutes I realized I had the WIFI turned off. It won't display an IP address unless the WIFI is turned on.
