I'm getting a distorted picture on my v3 screen. I've tried changing the sd card, reflashing the image, and using another screen from another kit, but no matter what I still get lots of static, so I think something is wrong with the pi. What can I do?

So you used another v3 LCD on this kit? And it gave you the same issue? Might want to redo the LCD GPIO which are middle GPIO. If that doesn't fix it then could be a bad pi but I've never seen those symptoms shown in the pictures.
