I wrestled with this for a while to get it to work with the slide switch. It's actually easier to make it work with a push button, but you'd have to change the script. If you don't, the Pi will detect the default state of the button as a signal to switch off.

You'd need a double pole push button if you wanted to use it as an off button as well.

How come this version does not work with the original DMG-01 switch, whereas V1.0 does? Would I be better off ordering that version if I want to keep to the more original appearance?

EDIT: I believe I misunderstood, and that while the original switch may not be used the switch cover is still a valid option.

@SullivanBlue That's correct, the switch has always been almost identical to the DMG-01 switch.
