now that my first build using this safe shutdown has been given away, i was wondering something that i have not yet thought about...

if you want to charge the lipo, is this the correct way:
- shut down the pi using the menu
- you will see command line with some lines
- do NOT put the switch in the on position
- charge the lipo
- after charge, put the switch in the off position

because of the whole time, the pi is not completely shut off and keeps using some power (also the screen remains on)

Or am i missing something? :)

reason that i never thought about this, is because i normally charge the lipo using my hobby-grade charger :)

I have a question or slight issue perhaps:
When disabling wait for network on boot

Code: Select all

sudo raspi-config
under option 3.

The safe shut down script appears not to run at startup. If I run it manually and turn the switch to off it will safe shutdown as desired. But if I don't run the script manually nothing happens, GBZ just stays on. With wait for network enabled everything works automatically as it should.
I assume that the GBZ doesn't need an active network connection to use the script (just one to install it). I'd like to disable wait for boot to speed up load times when I'm not connected to the internet but seems I can't and use safe shutdown at the same time.

I assume the issue maybe that the script gets loaded while the Pi waits for a network connection and skipping that causes it to load too fast for the script to be loaded?
