ooh likey.
can the boards be used in the repro controllers so we don't have to kill original SNES/SFC controllers?

Not sure on that. Ill buy one and check it out. Hopefully they did a good job copying the guts so that this will fit.

Also im sourcing a smaller/thinner HDMI cable... hoping to get the whole housing on the micro side inside the case of the snes controller so that just the cable is sticking out and have a more flexible cable. This will greatly improve the aesthetics of the project.

I just noticed something... if you do a second revision, the landing pads on the left and right directions should really be rotated 90 degrees to minimise mis-presses when pressing up and down. granted it's not such a big difference when the pads are combed together but I know some people notice that kind of thing when they're playing.

Consider me interested! I was about to jump into a project modifying a SNES controller to run a PiZero but this would make the build so much cleaner. Also definitely interested in the additional support to add an extra usb port for multiplayer games! Eager to see where this goes~

Can I ask are you powering it up like say the amozon fire stick as you can't power the pi from just the hdmi cable due to there's only about 50ma

Im using a modified adapter that uses a usb port to put 5v on the hdmi cable that can handle 500mA
