Ordered! Looks great!

When used in the vertical configuration, do the button locations still match the cad file for the old one? Having Kubino do all the drilling for me. Very cool about the L bracket!

I also noticed that the R1 and L1 buttons are on the bottom instead of the top. Misprint or were these intentionally swapped? I know that they could be wired either way regardless, only curious. Don’t mind me.
Thanks!

I have already sent Kubino and outline and hole placement for the Universal PCB. So he should be able to make the proper holes where necessary.

The L1,L2,R1, and R2 is just a naming convention on the board. I actually use the bottom location as L1 and R1 so I named them that way but it doesn’t matter as these get assigned in emulation station however you want. 😀

HoolyHoo, do you think there would be a way to use these buttons with DMG caps, not on the back, but at the top on the sides, in a similar place to where you mounted your tactiles in your stormtrooper build?

If that could be done, that would be my ideal place!!

Kite, what's your opinion? Is there enough real estate left over after the Circuit Sword to mount these like in HoolyHoo's stormtrooper build?

I don't believe so. The room there was very tight and that was with one of my brackets modified using switches that were much smaller than these.

How tall are these switches? WIth DMG button caps?

One comes with 3D parts for use with original gameboy buttons (DMG), the other comes with 3D parts for use with the 12mm extruded buttons. The PCB’s and soft switches are the same in each kit, meaning if you got one and changed your mind on the specific type of buttons caps you want to use, it’s as simple as having HoolyHoo send you a couple of 3D printed pieces.

If I understand correctly, those 3D printed pieces are just to close the hole on the bottom of the button caps so the soft tactile switch underneath can be pressed. Just two different types of hole plugs. That’s the only difference.

Please feel free to correct me if anything I said is inaccurate, HoolyHoo.
