Finally got my kit (took a little while to reach Canada, 20 or so days). Excited to get it built!

Okay, question...I've got it all soldered up. I have used the multimeter to check all connections. They are all good. I have a black screen. No backlight. The pi boots fine and I can see it on my network. I am using the image download from the tindie site. Any pointers on getting the screen going. I'm at a loss. Since it should be good. I've double and triple checked all connections...

At boot time, does the screen first glow and then turn black?

Have you tried connecting over WiFi? By PuTTy or WinSCP. Login/password is pi/raspberry.

No glow at all. And yes, I can connect via putty.

Now that I look further, still no glow on the screen, but putty is strange. I can log in via winscp and transfer files over. But when I try to log in via putty it doesn't get past here.

Never seen that happen, even when I try to run comands via the terminal in winscp it gives me errors too, for example, I cannot run sudo nano /etc/rc.local or sudo nano /boot/config.txt both common commands that have worked on every other pi i've ever worked with.

I'll re flash the image I think.

No glow at all.
Firstly, check the voltage and ground at the terminals of the screen. 1,8, 11-14 (GND), 9 (+3.3V), 10 (+3V) The screen should glow even without a SDcard.
