Yeah I ordered mine 17 June and it shipped 2 July. The site only came back up fully last week so there might be some backlog. I would reach out on the website and ask.

Dumb question from someone who is about to build a CS for the first time... Which lens did you go with? I'm not sure what the difference actually are between a 3in, pi, and the IPS models. Presumably you'd go with the Pi variant?

First time build here also so don't take my words as someone who has done this before.
Gameboy Original DMG - Circuit Sword - 3 inch screen
Gameboy Pocket GBP - Circuit Shield - Kite's Circuit Shield

The 3 inch just takes the border to 3 inch from the edge which seems the most normal border. Some have used 2/2.5 inch but it's difficult to find these now.

If you choose an option on the website it should show a side by side comparison with the original. Or you can download his template files now if you have something like illustrator to view them with.

Another noob beginner question: why would I not choose the 640x480 HD LCD screen when I order a Circuit Sword? Are there any disadvantages to that? Apart from cost?

If you don't mind the cost definitely get the 640x480 display. It's looks so much better and only requires updating one config file to get it working. I'm hoping to upgrade my other GB as soon as I can get another 640 display.
