[WANTED] "Assembled Gameboy Zero"

Post by PhantomOfNyx » Wed Sep 28, 2016 2:25 am

Hi there, and I know my request is a bit extreme but please hear me out

Thing is, I'm not physically capable of assembling the Gameboy Zero from components, I actually did take electrical engineering classes, but I had to quit due to tremors of my hands, which is caused by a psychological trauma from when I was small.

I saw that video admittedly and won't lie I'm very interested in getting my hands in one.

so question here is if anyone would be willing to sell me one would I be more than grateful.

(also I have a small question regarding storage, figuring that the main software is in the cardridge, and it then loads storage from a microSD card where the roms are placed on.

with Love: Nyx

Hi there, sorry about the bit slow response, honestly I'm willing to pay how much it will take to get a decent uhm..... Console?
using decent components, I'm the kind of person who would rather pay the price required than cheaping out and having something that falls apart in a month

however it's really based on how much you think, I always prefer estimates, so I know what I have to work with.

The amount of.time that goes into building one of these depends on the parts used.

Make it like.the original wermy build videos wil take more time, but less money in parts.

Making it like the new build video, and it is done more quickly, but as far as i can see costs a bit more in parts....

I.have seen a couple on ebay, one was asking around 350 dollar, one other almost 700 (damn)

I think it's the opposite actually. The custom build has more consolidated components (all in one...) that slashes the cost. I keep saying the custom build is ~$190 in parts plus tools. Cost of labor and profit margin is up to the builder.

The custom build is basically the same as the original build but with more optimal parts, both easier to build and cheaper because an original reader requires you to chop up a gameboy which are like $30-$45 now compared to getting 4 readers for less than $8. No gameboy cartridge reader and the all in one is just a better build period.
