[Wanted] Button wells

Post by jjj » Tue May 10, 2016 3:04 pm

I bought a spare set of DMG buttons from eBay as I wanted the colour to match, but that means I don't have button wells for x/y, which I've realised I need.

If anyone has any spare button wells I'm willing to pay for them (+ postage), or trade spare parts.

I can offer:
  • Tacile push buttons (like Wermy user for l/r)
  • Spare DMG buttons (D-pad plus silicon pad, power switch, start/select
  • Spare game cartridge (working, with PCB)
I'm based in the UK, so would prefer to swap with someone in the UK/EU

This isn't the most cost-efficient idea, but I'll throw it out there anyway:
Get an el cheapo SNES controller or something and take the button wells from there. :)

As tofu said, this would be the cheapest way.
I got mine from a SNES Clone Controller here: http://www.gearbest.com/mice-keyboards/pp_261728.html
I salvaged one from it, so i still got 1 (for 2 buttons) left.
The shipping to UK will be much more than what you would have to pay at Gearbest,
so i think you should go the GB route first, but if you insist, i can take a look what shipping would be from DE to UK
and send you the other 2, but i think you should go with the new one, especially if you make a mistake so that you will have a backup.

Thanks for the offer - I think I'll just buy a cheap SNES controller.

This is what I did and I've decided to chuck the cheapo controller and go for something else. The plastic was so unbelievably soft and splits too easily.

@Camble Which SNES controller did you buy? That sounds quite bad for what it is. :|

Mine were pretty good and sturdy. Can't complain.

It was a very cheap unofficial SNES controller from a UK based eBay seller. Even the internals were as thin and cheap as could be.

Maybe a USB one would be of better quality. Maybe I was just unlucky.
