I just ordered 6 the other day from retromodding so they should still have some, they are just the plain black ones tho.

Retropie handhelds has some of the "dot matrix with stereo sound" ones available, it's showing 4 available. One other option it Kitschbent, which sells plain one (grey, white or black borders). I typically buy from Handheld Legend, but they are currently sold out too.

I had the same problem! I got in on the gorilla glass pre-order from YaYa. Will be a while but will still beat some other parts for my build to my door.
Handheld Legend also has some clear screens available in their regular DMG glass screen area. No border, but it'd keep stuff out of the case and still let you see the full screen until you get something else. Relatively cheap too.

Otherwise wait a little. There's a demand, there will be supply.
