Just a thought... would anyone be interested in a DIY version of this board? It would come with a bare PCB and all the through-hole components to make your own Safe Shutdown board.

That would mean you'd get:
  • Bare PCB
  • 2x Resistors
  • 1N4148 Diode
  • 2N5460 JFET
  • DPDT Switch

Would we get it faster than the other board? =P haha

@hueblo Lol, this is just an idea of mine as I have a bunch of through-hole JFETs coming soon and thought some people might like a more DIY approach.

On that note, I've already started assembling the PCBs so they should go out fairly soon.

@camble

My real answer is. I prefer your board because it will probably take a lot less room. (I'm guessing)

To be honest, the through-hole version wouldn't be much larger. Anyway, the idea is out there. If people are interested, I'll get a batch made up.

No, these would be the same as the first ones, only through hole on which you could solder your own components on/in.

@BadBert I'll probably open up pre-orders in a couple of weeks. We'll see how things go.
