[Interest Check] Micro Lipo: USB-C

Post by AWildTyphlosion » Thu Sep 28, 2017 4:17 pm

With the help of Kite, I designed and made a USB C version of adafruit's micro lipo. While I might sell this version of the micro lipo, one of the downsides is that it does not fully take advantage of USB C's quick charge or higher power bandwidth and charges the same rate as the regular micro lipo.

Please take note that:
  • It does not have mounting holes to save space
  • It uses through hole pinouts instead of the JST connector
  • Made by someone who probably doesn't know what they're doing

Anyway if you are interested in obtaining one, or want to help improve it, please post here.
It was made in KiCAD instead of EagleCAD, and will be open source.

Is it still 1.5A?

I think I would be interested, for future projects.

That it is.

This is the first design of my run of the micro lipo, but I have more plans for later. I didn't really want to mess with the charging circuit too much since I don't have as much knowledge of batteries as I should.

But the next revision will probably have a higher amperage.
