After looking around the forums and internet, I saw absolutely no way to have a GBZ or GB3 with a six button config! I know myself and many others have fond memories of the Genesis, and I wanted to make a board with six button support.
I'm calling this board "Semi-AIO" because you need other parts, but not nearly as many as with a basic button board like you'd find on eBay or from kitsch-bent. This board would be a remix of that basic board, but have features like
-Six button config support (of couse )
-PWM audio filter
-Power/Ground rails
-Audio amp
And some possible but not final features like
-Battery monitoring support
-A built in digital pot for two-button volume control
-A USB hub
-5v boost and charge circuit
This could enable a six button build with only a screen, case, battery, button set, pi zero/pi 3, (maybe a power boost and/or pot), and this board.
Please cast your vote in the poll!

Love the idea but the PWM
Coulnd’t be possible to go USB sound instead, definitely worth the few more bucks as for sound quality

I like the idea, but I also second the usb audio comment....Either way, this sounds like a good idea. PWM audio is acceptable to me.

I know the USB audio is a big hitter for some, but its harder to put in a pcb than PWM. If enough people want it I'll try to implement it. PWM is just a lot simpler. I'll look into USB audio though.Love the idea but the PWM
