I have a AtMega32u4 Pro Micro, but it does not have 44 pins like this image posted. Do I need the longer version with more pins?

Caution, you have an ARDUINO pro micro, the ATMEGA is the processor. Not all IO have been wired; Though there is enough on it, but you have to change the values. That's why in my library there is two config available, one for the helder's board, one standalone

It is a 32u4 so it's exactly like a Arduino Pro Micro or a Teensy, so yeah it's like a teensy thougth this one is the same too, same processor and really cheaper http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Pro-Micro-A ... SwRgJXiEQu

I don't like this comparison since it shows multiple board that have nowhere near the required IO pin numbers.. (ATTiny for example) so buying theses might gets you stuck
