Using 4 rechargable Li-po AA batteries
Re: Using 4 rechargable Li-po AA batteries
in 3.7v, max seems to be 800 mAh from your website, which is still 3200mAh in total for something that looks like simple AA batteries, but for "only" 3200, then maybe a good lipo is better ?
does anyone know if having four 14500 batteries in parallel is dangerous, or risky or has any advices etc ?
thank you !

Re: Using 4 rechargable Li-po AA batteries
how about four 17500 batteries 3.7v 1100mAh ? they are 17.3mm diameter and 50mm long (AA are 14x50), so they might be a bit bigger, but dunno if they would fit...

Re: Using 4 rechargable Li-po AA batteries
Has anyone got any updates on this, are you getting good battery life and hopefully workout any problems... , very interested in doing this on my next project.
Just to be sure you have four batteries in a row all pos at top connected in a row, negative at bottom connected in a row and than connected to something to stop over charging before going to powerboost?
Any further advice would be brilliant to stop any problems.

Ive never used 17500's but if they fit, i can't see why they wouldn't work.

Re: Using 4 rechargable Li-po AA batteries
Thanks for the update, one more question on the below are you saying the cheap batteries you are using are useless, struggle to power it and not to bother with them?
Although the sticker says 2300 mAh each, even once fully charged the powerboost starts showing low battery as soon as the pi is under load. I'm using Popcorns battery monitor script which automatically shuts down the pi.
I have no problems when using a 2000 mAh pack from adafruit. It lasts a good 1.5 - 2 hrs before any low batt indication which is what i would expect.
Re: Using 4 rechargable Li-po AA batteries
14500 batteries are max 800mAh.
So four of them would give you max 3200mAh.
And not 9600.
That's the thing he meant.
Also, as bought from a not soooo 100% trusted source, not sure if they would catch on fire or not.
He made a proof of concept and is now looking for a good source to buy trusted batteries.

Re: Using 4 rechargable Li-po AA batteries
My idea is to use Game Boy battery department and 4x 2500 mAh AA batteries with a voltage regulator from cheap powerbank.
