Trouble uploading program to Teensy

Hello there!

I'm building my first Game Boy Zero, and everything is going well so far. I've just finished wiring the buttons up to the Teensy, but I'm unable to upload Wermy's program to it. When I do, it seems to upload without any errors, but will then print out:

"Teensy did not respond to a USB-based request to automatically reboot.
Please press the PROGRAM MODE BUTTON on your Teensy to upload your sketch."

Needless to say, pressing the button either gives the same error, or an even worse one depending on how soon I press it.
I'm using Arduino 1.6.11 with the Teensy plug-in version 1.30 on OS X Sierra. ALSO after that didn't work, I went ahead and tried using Arduino version 1.6.8 with the same plug-in, but that gave identical results.

Welcome!

The timing can be pretty important when you're doing the programming to it. It should work if you press upload and then immediately press the button on your teensy. Hope this helps!

Someone else has the same issue with OS X Sierra.

While I think being on OS X was part of the problem, it turns out that the micro USB cable I was using was shoddy. I used a different one and it works like a charm!
