SNES hole template

Post by theo » Tue Oct 04, 2016 12:21 pm

Hello all,

I am very new to all this stuff (RPi GB etc).
Even though I have made some progress (with a Pi2 and a screen that had to take appart to make it "slim") my next step is to make the holes for the A-B buttons taken from a SNES replica controller.
Does any of you have any SNES hole template in order to make the holes on the GB without messing it up?

I am still waiting for some items, as soon as I get them and have some more progress on it, I will post on "show off"

Thanks!

easiest way is to paper trace it. Use a pencil and put a lot of graphite on it. trace the button maps onto the paper. Flip it over and push hard enough to transfer some of that graphite onto the case. Easy peasy

This is a good idea and I will use it in case I don't find any template.
However (and knowing myself) it would be much better to use an accurate template for the holes.

Thanks for the tip Chedda!

When you print it, make sure to turn off scaling and then double check the measure after you've printed. I didn't realize it right away and almost made my modifications based on the scaled image but luckily tend to be on the perfectionist side of things and caught my mistake.
