@Floyd That looks like the GearBest screen I have. Here's how to bypass the voltage regulator.

I found this screen:
http://www.ebay.es/itm/3-5-Hign-Car-Col ... SwX6VTyNqq
It has a 640 * 480 resolution and 12V of power supply

Thanks for replying! It does look alot like your GearBest screen although some components are placed differently. I'll take your picture as a reference and I'll give it a try and post my findings here!Camble wrote:@Floyd That looks like the GearBest screen I have. Here's how to bypass the voltage regulator.

@Floyd Best thing to do is look up the datasheet for the voltage regulator and connect your 5v supply directly to its output.

Hi Camble, thanks for your advice. I followed it up and got my screen working as you can see on the picture below. Sadly the text on the screen is hardly readable... is this normal? I cannot play games to check the resolution or do anything yet since my controller is in the making...Camble wrote:@Floyd Best thing to do is look up the datasheet for the voltage regulator and connect your 5v supply directly to its output.
Edit: I found alot of other similar post about screen res so i'm going to follow them up first.
