PSX Games?

Post by FreddyMro » Tue Dec 06, 2016 8:26 pm

Since there are videos on the web that show PSX-games (like Crash Bandicoot 2 or Spyro the Dragon) working well on a RPI Zero and some say PSX games are not playable, I'm confused if it will work if I built my own GBZ.

Have you made any experiences with PSX games on the GBZ and can share them with me?

Thank you in advance :-)

crash bandicoot 2 in pcsx-rearmed (not lr-pcsx-rearmed) runs at 30fps and is perfectly playable. crash team racing is 25-30 in races and slow in cutscenes.

It depends on the game.

As long as the emulation is at 100% speed, it sounds good. Cutscenes wont sound 100% as they usually lag a bit but gameplay is fine.

Nice, thanks! :)

The pcsx rearmed seems to be a bit faster, than the lr-pcsx rearmed, right?

It is. Just gotta adjust overscan and brightness/contrast if you have a button board. :)
