Is my lcd broke?noobie killjoy!

Post by majestic » Mon Dec 26, 2016 5:26 pm

Hi community,
My problem is that my lcd is flashing, like its on and off 2seconds apart. I do have both white and yellow connected but that's because i get no image using just one. I dont see the AV1 or AV2 as its flashing and the pi boots fine as i can see the process in between flashes.

Have I knackered the screen?

Send us a picture of the wiring. If you had both connected, you would have 2 wires going to the TV pin which is wrong.

You should only need either the white or yellow wire. If you have both, it may be switching constantly between av1 and av2, causing the flashing.

First - disconnect one of the AV cables from the TV connector. I used AV2 by accident rather than AV1 but my BW screen doesnt seem to care and selects AV2 for me.

Secondly - Do you have a valid image on the SD card in the PI?

I had mocked mine up and had just put a random SD card in the slot as a placeholder.
When I first turned it on I could see activity on the PI's LED that looked like it was booting but the TV didn't come on and didn't light up at all.
As soon as I wrote a new SD and turned it on with that in it powered up the TV output properly and the screen came on.
