I ended up breaking the screw head while trying to get it out with a screw extractor. This was actually helpful because I got the case apart and used a pair of pliers to remove the rest of the screw. Problem solved!

Your next choice is to very carefully drill out the screw and then fill it with epoxy and retap the thread. You will almost definitly break the post though, so start thinking of alternatives to replace it (find another similar solid piece of plastic similar in size that you can drill, tap, and then epoxy in for a backup).

If you're USA based, I'm willing to drill and tap it for you (PM me) if you're paying for shipping. With that said, you might be better to buy one of those $10 shells from amazon/ebay/(fill in the blank)
