Which Version Screen Do I Have And How to Convert It?
Hey guys,
I'm very new to this site and I'm currently working on my very first GBZ. I've been searching other forums to help with this but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
I purchased the TFT screen that everyone buys on amazon and I'm not sure which version it is. There's a sticker on the inside and has V.5 on it so Im guessing it's the variant 5.
Could you help me out with how to convert this to 5v?
Also this site is great and this is a newly discovered hobby of mine that I love!

No, neither of those chips say that. One says "MK 25Q40ATIG 1649" and the other says "JW5022S 6P837CK"n.marek wrote:It should be pretty much same as the other screens. Does any of the 2 chips have XL1509 on them?

OK, I honestly don't know then. Maybe the third chip might do it, but I really don't know.

Also, you might want to try to run it with 5V without any modding first.
Here's the pinout for that: Also, you might want to try to run it with 5V without any modding first.

I'll try that out when my raspberry pi comes in the mail. If not, do you know which pin on that chip should I solder to?n.marek wrote:OK, I honestly don't know then. Maybe the third chip might do it, but I really don't know.

So I soldered the screen as is to the raspberry pi to test it and this is what I'm getting. Did I do something wrong or does the screen board need to be converted?

Tried thato and left in the white wire, but it's still doing the same thing. I also desoldered the wire from the screen and still nothing. I'm guessing I'm gonna have to figure out how to convert it to 5v. I can't seem to find a guide on here for this specific version though.Brett82 wrote:you don't need both the white and yellow connected they are 2 separate inputs connect 1 or the other.
