Also the adafruit pocket PiGRRL powers via gpio, A quick google search will give you more examples.

Re: Help guys I've destroyed my pwr pad on the pi zero
Just do what i told you dude, or buy a new pi zero, that 10 bucks for a pi zero.. isnt worth all this ffing around, or just repair like i said. on my last pic you saw clearly the plus and minus pad on the other side, same side as the port is visible.. that works. no gpio nothing, just solder red and black there, i've marked it with red lines can't be easyer..
ONCE AGAIN ..
now plug in the usb adapter, and now measure with multimeter to be sure what's + and -

The little square to the right of the pad is the 5v trace - scratch it and solder to it. It will work - because I did it as well accidentally haha!

Re: Help guys I've destroyed my pwr pad on the pi zero
the 2 5v pins on the GPIO are easy to solder to, and work fine
Get a small cheep LCD in your project https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2312
Wrap it all round a battery https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2292
Or use a custom PCB to make it really small https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2512
or make it really really really really tiny!! https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2919

Won't this be backfeeding? Or is the 5V line directly connected to the 5V pad?moosepr wrote:the 2 5v pins on the GPIO are easy to solder to, and work fine

In this context 5v is not directional, it's just a common rail. You can supply or draw on it anywhere. You might bypass some fuses doing though. Nothing to worry aboutChisharpe wrote:So it can be used as a pwr in to pwr the pi?

Don't the test pads on the bottom also bypass the fuses?abrugsch wrote:In this context 5v is not directional, it's just a common rail. You can supply or draw on it anywhere. You might bypass some fuses doing though. Nothing to worry about
